7 images only, explained

Our most commonly asked question is, "why can I only add 7 images to my reel? Can I get a reel with more?" And, the question makes a lot of sense when you look at the reel and see 14 image slots.

The short answer is no, 7 is the magic number, no more, no less. And here's why...

Look closely and you will see that the images directly across from one another are the same exact image.

It is not repeating or extra spaces, instead, the way the viewer and reel combo was designed requires a left and right image.

Take a look at this viewer:

Since 1939, viewers like ours have been designed to look in with each of your eyes independently. Your right eye looks in the right side, while simultaneously your left eye looks in the left side. Therefore, you need to have the same image on each side in order to view it properly.

If you put a different photo on each side, your eyes would go crazy, try to combine both images together, and see something like this:

The design hasn't changed since 1939 and we plan on keeping it that way. If we wanted to make a new reel and viewer combo to fit more images, it would mean completely redesigning the entire set and function of the original, which in our eyes, is pretty awesome the way it is! :-)

And that's it! Hope this helps clarify!
