our-favorite-toys-from-the-80s

The 80’s were a special time for us when we were growing up. Technology was starting to accelerate and many of our favorite toys were bright and exciting.   We still enjoyed playing with dolls, cassettes, action figures, and some of us even had the Big Wheel on the block!

How many of these 1980’s toys do you remember playing with?

A creative way to make your own pictures with light – how could this get any better!   Poking holes through that black paper and lighting up your creations was a great way to spend a Friday night. “Lite-Brite, Lite-Brite, turn on the magic of colored lights.”

Do you remember your first cassette player? We do, and as we grew older we even were able to make our own mix-tapes for a special crush in 7th grade. And music was just the start – these tapes would even let you record your own message.

View-Master™ Fisher-Price Mattel Corp

view-master-3dIf you were a child of the 80’s you loved your 3D effect that were placed in front of you every time you gazed into that little red toy. These stereoscopic image viewers actually showed you 2 slightly different images that look like they are in 3D. These toys have been around since the 1930’s but really took off in the 1980s as many retailers began selling View-Master Reels of your favorite movies or characters.

Did you know that in 2014 Pizza Hut created pizzas based on each ninja turtle’s interests – Michelangelo loved pepperoni, smoked ham, pineapple, and jalapeños.
